ISIOS Decades of Experience in Precision Robotics

ISIOS stands for high-precision robotics, innovative calibration technologies and decades of expertise in increasing the absolute accuracy of industrial robots. Our expertise is based on many years of research and development in robotics, kinematics, mathematical robot modelling and industrial robot calibration.

Our technological roots date back to the 1990s. Since then, company founder Dr. rer. nat. Peter Kovács has worked scientifically and practically in robotics and robot kinematics. He completed his doctorate at TU Berlin in the fields of goniometric ideal theory and symbolic solutions for inverse kinematics. This scientific expertise and extensive industrial experience developed into the know-how that ISIOS has today.

From Robot Calibration to Proprietary Technology

For many years, our work has focused on a key challenge in industrial robotics: how can the flexibility of an industrial robot be combined with the highest possible absolute pose and path accuracy?

Building on conventional high-precision robot calibration, ISIOS increasingly developed its own technologies. These include complex mathematical robot models, methods for parameter identification and compensation, and proprietary measurement and recalibration systems.

Proprietary Technologies for High-Precision Industrial Robots

With the ISIOS Laser Sensor System, ISIOS developed its own patented measurement technology for high-precision measurement and recalibration of industrial robots. The technology enables even the smallest robot deviations to be captured precisely and used as a basis for optimising the robot model. Integrated recalibration solutions also allow accuracy to be checked regularly directly within the production facility and optimised again as required.

ISIOS Tracker Guidance expanded the technology portfolio with a real-time solution for the most demanding accuracy requirements. During operation, an external high-precision measurement system continuously captures the robot’s actual pose. Remaining deviations are continuously determined and used directly to correct robot motion.

The ISIOS portfolio therefore now extends from high-precision robot calibration and integrated recalibration systems to continuous real-time compensation.

Experience Applied in Industry

Today, ISIOS combines decades of experience in robotics and robot calibration with proprietary measurement technology, software development and mathematical modelling. The resulting expertise enables solutions for industrial applications where conventional robot accuracy reaches its limits.

Renowned industrial companies and technology partners rely on ISIOS expertise and solutions. These technologies are used in demanding production and development environments where high absolute accuracy, reproducible processes and reliable results are crucial.

Our aim is to continuously advance the limits of industrial robot accuracy through decades of experience, proprietary technology and solutions that have made their way from research and development into industrial practice.
